Bag It Forward

I love school, and I love school supplies!! It is especially fun to glue things together and make arts and crafts projects for my family. I'm a little messy, but that just means we need lots and lots of glue and other school supplies each year. I think this is a great idea, this virtual shopping bag, to be able to donate $10 to schools just for writing a blog post. Well even I, a chimpanzee, can manage to take a couple of minutes out of monkeying around to do this!! Have a great day and start blogging for this great cause!!

By posting this and linking to Elmer's, this is what will happen:
ELMER’S VIRTUAL "BAG IT FORWARD" rules:

• Copy and paste these rules into your blog post or Facebook note.
•Create a post giving a “virtual bag of school supplies” to other bloggers or write about your Back to School shopping trip at Walmart.
•Link back to the person who gave you a bag of school supplies.
•Let each person you are giving a virtual bag of school supplies know you have given them a bag.
•Leave your link in the Elmer’s Virtual Bag It Forward comment section. You can also find the official rules of this virtual #bagitforward program there.
•Elmer’s is donating $10 for each blog participating in the Virtual Bag It Forward Donation to Adopt-A-Classroom (up to total of $10,000 for blog posts written by September 10,2010).

Funky Music Friday! My favorite day!!! I'm very excited to share this song with you because it is a cool song and I like it very much. It is called "Banana Pancakes" by Jack Johnson. I like this song because it makes me happy on a rainy day. This Jack Johnson guy is a genius because who would have thought to put two things I love very muchly into one song?!?

Enjoy this awesome song!

4th of July!

Well today is the 4th of July! That means the United States of America is 234 years old! I don't think I know anyone that old! It is so exciting!!! I took a picture of myself in front of an American flag so I would look patriotic today....And because I want to be president some day and I thought it would make a nice presidential photo..... but that is beside the point.

Happy Birthday America! and,
Happy 4th of July everyone!

God Bless America!

Funky Music Friday

On "Funky Music Friday" I will pick one of my favorite songs, post a video of it, and write about why I like it. This week I'm picking the song "Billionaire" by Travie McCoy featuring Bruno Mars.

I like this song because I like money. And I want to be a billionaire when I grow up. There are two different versions of this song. Bananas and I are not allowed to listen to the original version because we are apparently too young. I mean, I don't think I'm that young. I just don't get it. Oh well.

Enjoy the song!

Wardrobe Wednesday!

Heyo!
Today is "Wardrobe Wednesday!" And this Wednesday I am a Cowboy! Being a Cowboy is a lot harder than it looks. To be a good cowboy you have to, of course look like one, and you would also need a horse. That horse right there, no, not that one, the one in the picture with me, is my friend Speckles. Speckles is from Australia. You know the place where everyone has cool accents.
Anyway, a Cowboy also needs proper equipment like a lasso. Eventually I would like to have an actual Cowboy pistol. But Bananas wont let me get one. She says I could get hurt (yeah, right).
I might be a Cowboy today, but I like to change it up a bit and next week you will be surprised what I, Dexter, have in store for you!

Chimpanzee Poetry

The other day, when I was making the blog rounds, I found this post about poems on Mary Bennett's blog. In the post she was talking about her daughter being challenged to write a limerick, and I left her this comment:

I think your daughter should write a poem about Chimpanzees, who are often overlooked in poetry. Of course it is hard to rhyme chimpanzee with anything else. Thanks for visiting my blog, be sure to come back and see me again !!!

Later I went back to my own blog and found this lovely poem in the comment box. Miss Mary wrote a poem all about, well, ME! Thank you Miss Mary, I love you!!

I think I shall never see,
anything as wonderful as this chimpanzee!

No, not Chester, his name is Dexter
This cuddly funny, family jester!

And I'll read the blog of this imp
my favorite family's little chimp!

Happy Father's Day. Papa

This is my Papa! He is a great guy, and we have a lot of fun together. He likes to play games on the computer, and he likes to play soccer with us. He has this really cool cell phone. I want a cell phone too, but Papa says that I cannot have one yet. I cannot imagine why! There are so many wonderful things I could do with a phone! This is Papa's phone:

Look at me!! Right there, I'm his background! I also like to change his ring tones and then call him when he is in a crowd! The most fun was when I put Usher's "yeah" on his phone. Then I called him when he was in a quiet waiting room. Tee hee!!
And here, you can see, most of Papa's pictures are of me! I cannot imagine why he doesn't want me to have my own phone, it seems to me I could have all sorts of fun!

Happy Father's Day to the best Papa a chimpanzee could ever wish for!!
